As detailed on page 19 of July’s Open Road, we have the Tofield Lions Heritage Classic on Main Street Tofield on Monday, August 1st. Registration is at the Community Hall from 10:30am to 12 Noon and the fee is $20. There’s also a Pancake Breakfast at the Seniors Drop In Centre from 8:30am to 11am.
After the Show & Shine ends at 3pm, we are invited to Phil’s Bardo BBQ. Bring your own Meat, Seat & Drinks. Sandi is providing the rest. Desserts appreciated. Please RSVP to Sandi (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Phil (email@example.com) a week in advance if planning on attending.
We will depart at 9am for Tofield from Starbucks in the RioCan Meadows Parking Lot at 3918 17 St NW, Edmonton, AB T6T 0C2.
Gather in parking lot by Starbucks coffee.. Enter RioCan off 17th Street by Home Depot. First left past Can Trust, and Starbucks is on the far side of the next block of units.
Depart at 9 a.m. for Tofield. Travel down from the mall to either Hwy 14 towards Camrose (don’t go to Camrose) until you get to Tofield turnoff. High Speed highway.. or from mall out Whitemud to Highway 21, head north on 21 to Wye Road/ Highway 630 and follow that out past North Cooking Lake to Tofield turning either on Township Road 512 and come in the backside of Tofield or follow 630 to where it joins 14 and come in on the main highway. Same speed limit just not exceeded as much on the Wye Road.
From the highway turn left at the Tempo, cross tracks, first right to 3 way stop and left up 50th. If you’re coming in on Township Road 512, turn right when you hit Creamery Road and then left onto 53 Ave and right on 51st Street down to 51st Ave before the railway tracks. Left turn from the back route to stop signs. The club parks at the Curves and Loonie Bin’s parking lot on 50th Street. Traffic flows along 50th Street from 51st Avenue and the lot is on the left just past 52nd Ave.
Weather’s supposed to be good.. Food available in town, washrooms at the Community Hall (and pie). Should have camera, snacks, chair, rain gear or sun block (knowing Alberta a bit of both.) And if going to Phil’s Farm after show for BBQ (2K or 6K of gravel depending on route) bring Meat, Seat, Beverage.
