The Plan:
• 10:30 Meet at Capilano Mall parking lot
• 11:00 Depart (with a full tank of gas
• 12:30 Lunch stop at Maple Tree Grill (Hwy 831)
• 15:30 Finish Swiss Chalet (137 Ave / 50th Street
• 16:00 Award Econorun Trophy for best fuel estimate
The drive includes city and county roads and primary highways through a scenic area Northwest of Edmonton where fall colours should be at their best. The total distance will be approximately 200 km (roughly 125 miles).
At the start point every driver will be expected to fully fill the fuel tank on his or her vehicle.
Each driver and (optional) navigator/passenger will provide an estimate of the expected fuel consumption rate for their vehicle.
At approximately the mid-point of the drive we will stop for lunch at the Maple Tree Grill on Hwy 831.
The run will end at the Swiss Chalet where the vehicles will be re-fueled and the actual fuel consumption rate will be calculated. The person whose fuel estimate is closest to the actual fuel consumption rate will be awarded the ECSCC Econorun trophy.
