Guy Fawkes BonfireGuy Fawkes night, bonfire, fireworks, hot potatoes and beverages. Nice cold fun…

Presented by the St. George’s Society at the Shrine Temple, 14510 – 142 Street. $10.00 per car. Gates open at 6:30 PM and the event starts at 7:00 PM. The event includes Bonfire and Fireworks. Potatoes & Hot Drinks for sale.
As the entry fee is per car, If interested in sharing a ride meet at the Royal Alberta Museum around 6 and travel in a group to the event and then back to the museum after the event, however, please keep it to no more than four people per vehicle. After all it is a fund raiser for the society. Jonathan Smethurst is the contact person.

“Chickakoo Lake” Sunday, Drive and Walk October 23.

“Chickakoo Lake” Sunday, October 23. We will muster at 11 AM at the Royal Alberta Museum for a 11:30 AM departure. This mostly-highway cruise will take us roughly 50+ KM west. The Chickakoo Lake Recreation Area is a 194 ha wildlife sanctuary and the wooded trails follow the shoreline giving a good view of lakeshore wildlife and plants. We’ll do the one hour stroll and explore the natural features along the Indian Ridge Trail. . As this is a walking experience, bring walking shoes and dress for the weather. “780tuner Season Closer & Rainbow Society Fund Raiser” 7 PM, Saturday, October 15 at United Cycle & The Antique Mall at 7620 Gateway Blvd. Parking lot opens at 5:30 PM so it is best to come early to ensure you get a parking spot. All special interest cars are welcome and a wide variety including classic, collector, antique, exotic, muscle & tuner cars are expected. The Rainbow Society, Canadian Blood Services and 780tuners sponsors will be on site. There will be a barbecue and a raffle with all proceeds supporting these charities. Smokey Lake Pumpkin Festival…

“Smoky Lake Pumpkin Festival” Saturday, October 1. This is an “On Your Own” event involving a Saturday cruise to Smoky Lake and back. If going, feel free to muster at 8:30 AM Saturday morning at the Petro Can on Fort Road for an 8:45 AM departure to Smoky Lake. Saturday events include a 9 AM to 4 PM Food Court at the Hall & Fair Grounds, a Farmer’s Market, 9 AM to 4 PM beside the Complex and in the School Gym and music provided by the “Northern Kings”. ECONO run to Huckleberry’s, Wetaskiwin AB. Sunday Sept. 25th

“Fall Colours/Econo Run” Sunday, September 25. Bob van Goethem, last year’s winner, is organizing this event this year. Muster by the Swiss Chalet at 50th Street and 137th Avenue for an 11 AM departure. Top up your tanks at the nearby ESSO and record the odometer readings and register your expected fuel consumption be it knowledge, speculation or a guess. Departure time is 11 AM. Our arrival at Huckleberry’s Restaurant at 3849 – 56th Street in Wetaskiwin should be between 12:15 PM and 12:30 PM and the reservation is for the approximate time of our arrival. There are gas stations within a block of the destination. After lunch, we’ll collect fuel and mileage information and determine the winner.
