I’m planning a drumheller trip for August 22nd/23rd since I was supposed to be going to camping in the mountains with my brother at that time but he his unable to because of work. To take place of that trip I am going to be heading to Drumheller for the weekend. I will be leaving early the Friday morning to get to Drumheller for early/mid afternoon and camping (if possible) the night in or around Drumheller.
The plan would be to take 21 to Camrose and then highway 56 through Stettler with a quick stop for gas and then through to Drumheller. I was there last summer and really want to check out the Atlas Coal Mine again since more of the mine is supposed to be opened up. There is also the museum, the world’s largest dinosaur, some hiking around there and some fun roads to check out.
If anyone is interested please let me know by email (geoffrey.allan@gmail.com) or phone (780-904-3978).
Thanks!
This past weekend the Indy had come and gone. It appeared to be successful once again (at least from the standpoint of someone who didn’t go). We have the Tofield car show coming up on August 3rd, Rock’N'August from the 4th to the 9th, a set of garage tours on the 22nd as well as a very tentative fun run on the 16th.
I can’t make it out to meetings or ice cream runs anymore but I can cut my losses and go to Friday lunches at the 99th Street Diner. See you there!
Any questions or concerns please feel free to email me at geoffrey.allan@gmail.com or call me at 780-904-3978.
I picked up a car on June 25th for a good deal, and had a blast with it until the afternoon of the 27th when the clutch disintegrated into several pieces while on the highway. Fortunately, a local shop in town had the clutch, pressure plate, and release bearing in stock and for a pretty reasonable price. I bought the pieces ASAP and had a couple friends help me work on pulling it apart this past Wednesday. We took our time working on the car. All in all, including a couple of hours trying to figure out how we were going to get one of the driveshafts out and having food, it was out within approximately 6 hours.
Friday night Chris came over and we got the freshly machined flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate up as well as replacing the release bearing. Yesterday I had another friend of mine over to help out. We re-aligned the clutch a couple of times and up went the transmission (and down a few times too). Hopefully I can get it in today and have the car up and running for the week so I have plenty of time to break in the clutch.
ECSCC was out in force this weekend, as the largest club to show at Sundays History Road. See the photos below -

Just a quick reminder that we are now one week from the Major event of the year - time to detail the car.
